Poor George. He had a really rough morning. First - let me say how excited I am that he slept in his crib all night last night. We got up twice, but that's been the norm for the last few nights. I really want to get him back to once a night. Anyway, I think the new sleeper helps us all feel better about him sleeping in his crib.

Sooooo . . . the blood work. We just got home from the pediatrician's office. The poor little guy had to fill THREE VIALS of blood and still get his heel pricked. UGH! They put a tourniquet around his little bicep and used a butterfly needle to get the thing started. The whole works. SAD. His arm turned purple and he was inconsolable. Poor little man. I was tough and stayed strong - surprisingly. Even the nurse afterwards commented on how well I did through the procedure. When that was all over . . . all three vials filled . . . they did another heel prick to test the jaundice again. You would have thought that was worse. I think George had just had enough. He lost it. His face was soooooo red, you would never have known he was yellow-ish.

Anyway, I had big plans to go to Target afterwards because I thought he'd be zonked. Not only is he still awake - although in his pack-n-play resting now - but I just felt like he'd been through enough. We came home to rest and eat again (in 30 mins). The process took longer than I had thought. Hopefully we'll hear from the doc tonight and I will report back with more.
