Jaundice numbers went from 11.3 last week down to 9.6 today. Yeah!! We'll test again at his two month check up on April 7th, but if the trend stays the same we likely won't test again. VERY good news. George weighed in at 11 pounds, 8.5 ounces this morning. That puts him in the 70th percentile. He's growing great.
Dr. Brandon is the one who called today with the jaundice test results. Every doctor in our practice has a different take on everything. I asked Dr. Brandon about the milk allergy issue. He made some interesting points. There's a major difference between milk intolerance and a milk allergy. Intolerance would show us bloody or mucus filled diapers (ICK!!). We're not seeing that. An allergy could be the rash we're seeing. He says an allergy usually goes away after 6 months and we should just stick with it and things will improve.
Dr. Brandon was very pleased with George's weight gain and jaundice numbers, so he's not too concerned about the potential milk allergy issue. All is going well!
